George E. Truett (Sep 1, 1879 - Sep 1, 1880)(Interm Oct 1, 1900 - May 31, 1901)
George E. Truett, born in Tennessee, travelled and studied considerably in Europe before entering the ministry. He began at West Washington while quite young and later was paster at the Fourth Street Church in Portsmouth, and the College Hill Church at Lynchburg.
Dr. Truett later served as acting pastor, October 1, 1900 to May 31, 1901. After his retirement he lived at his wife's home in Arlington. Thereafter, they were members of our church.
